Previewing pages and print options

- One of the benefits of FileMaker is that you can print any layout that you can view on screen. So, that way, you don't have to have special print layouts, but there are some ways to approach it that you can help get better results. Now, I'm not saying that you should print every layout. Some of them are going to be designed that are going to be larger than the print area. But let's start there. How do we figure out what the print area is? FileMaker gives a couple of tools to figure that out. The main tool is a mode called Preview Mode. You see that listed here under View, but you also see this button here call Preview. When you click it, you notice that you get a dotted area with some sort of bleed round it, and that tells us what the printable area is going to be. But what drives the printable area? First of all, let's go into layout mode, and we'll see that we've got these interesting dotted lines here. So those are what the page breaks are. Now, if you can't see the page breaks…
