- [Instructor] One of the benefits of working in FileMaker is that you can print any layout that you can view on screen. However, that doesn't meant that all of your screens will look good when you actually print them. So there's a couple of ways that you can tell whether or not your layouts are going to be print ready. If you go into layout mode, you'll see that in my layout I have these dotted lines here. If you don't have the dotted lines, you'll need to go into view and page breaks. So what these lines are telling me is that if I tried to print this layout as is I would actually end up printing four different pieces of paper. One in this area, one in this quadrant, another partial print here, and a partial print there as well. So if I wanted to optimize this layout for printing I would need to make sure that anything that I'm printing falls within this single page dotted line area.
