- [Narrator] In FileMaker, when you're searching for data you don't always have to specify the exact criteria in the field. For example; if I want to find all the invoices in this file that were created between the year 2000 and the year 2019, I don't actually have to go and create 10 new find requests each with the different year; but instead I can use what FileMaker calls search operators. So if you go into find mode, you'll notice in the layout bar that there's this thing that says insert operators. You can see that there's a bunch of different terms that when combined with search criteria, or even if just left by their own, will instruct FileMaker to perform different types of searches. For example the ones that work on their own are like the exclamation point. You don't actually have to pick it, but if you do, you'll see that when you perform a search, what exclamation points do is give you back all the matching data.
