- [Instructor] The tabbed user interface is a popular design feature for many applications. As a matter of fact, even the starter apps that you see in FileMaker 17, they pretty much all have a tab interface. You'll notice that here, for example, in the meetings detail layout on the meetings starter app that we've got a Notes, Topics and Action Items tab. And what this allows us to do is compartmentalize the layouts, save screen real estate, and use that same area on screen for multiple different pieces of information. Now, how do we add that to our layouts? Let's take a look at our exercise file and if we go onto Layout Mode, let's say we've determine we want to do a better job of utilizing the space on screen. As a matter of fact I'm going to turn off our guides to give us a little bit of left right room here. So we notice that we have groups of fields that kind of break in a different categories.
