Understanding relationship types
- [Instructor] Step One in creating a related database system is to figure out what tables you're going to have in your database. Once you determine how many different tables you're going to need in your related database, the next step is to figure out how those tables are going to be related to each other. So of course this is the core of relational databases so before you can figure out what relationships you're going to have between tables, you're first going to have to figure out what relationships there could possibly be. So what I'd like to do is review with you the three different relationship types and talk to you about the ones that you're going to be looking for, and the ones you're going to be trying to eliminate. So first of all there's only three types of relationships that you could identify. We've got one-to-one relationships.
