Understanding the "If" script step
- [Narrator] Adding conditions to your calculation functions really takes you calculation function programming to another level. And when you're talking about developing scripts in your FileMaker custom apps, we also have the ability to add those same conditions. So, just like we had an if function in calculations, we have an if script step in FileMaker scripts. So, for example, we have a script that we've created the Print Welcome Letter that goes to the layout for the welcome letter, prints and does all this other kind of stuff here. So, let's say for example, we have a couple different letters. We have the standard welcome letter and then we have another version of the welcome letter which is actually an inactive. So, for anybody that has a pending status, for example, they're going to get the standard welcome letter. But, if they have a status of inactive, they'll get the inactive version.
