Using the basic find functions

- [Instructor] One of the key requirements to any data storage application is its ability to retrieve data. FileMaker provides this via its find mode features. We've been covering a lot of different modes so far like layout mode and browse mode, for example, but the one that we haven't yet covered is find mode. You can go into find mode by hitting the Find button, or you can go into the View menu and choose Find or use the quick key which is what most people do. When you go into find mode, whatever layout that you were in, FileMaker then goes into that layout. It appears as though all the data is gone, but in fact, it's in a mode where you can enter in search criteria. You can enter in any combination of fields that you'd like and what we're going to do in this one is show you the most basic elements of finding. When you're in find mode, you'll notice that all the fields that you can enter data into have a little find magnifier glass on them that indicates that you're in find mode so…
