Using file-based triggers (Open and Close scripts)

The last set of script triggers that we'll be looking at, aren't part of the new script triggers that were added in recent versions of FileMaker, they've always been in the product, but they've been modified just recently. These are what are called the file based script triggers. You can find these under the File menu, under the File Options, and on the fourth tab called Script Triggers. Now earlier on in the product version cycle, FileMaker used to have a button right here that looked just like switch to layout, but it was called Open Script. So every time your file opened, you could tell FileMaker to open the script. They also had one that says every time you try to close the file, run another script first. Opening scripts are incredibly popular with professional FileMaker developers and they might be something that you find yourself using all the time as well.
