Using global fields to create a user-driven portal filter
- [Narrator] This technique is going to build off of the last movie where we created a globally stored portal filter field to allow the users to determine what they're seeing inside each portal. Now we're still going to go with this global technique, but I want to show you how you can create a date range to filter what values you see in your portal. If we go inside manage database and take a look at the relationship that we created earlier, we see that we've got the pk and fk, customers and orders, and we've got this globally stored filter and the shipment status. We're going to tweak it just a little bit for this example. Let's create another table occurrence of orders by dragging it. I'm going to call this one filtered range instead. We're still going to want to have the customer pk connected to customer fk. But in this case what we want to do is we want to have a field on the parent side that has the start date and the end date and we will connect those over here to the sale date…
