Using layout-based triggers

- [Instructor] Layout based triggers as the name implies, are triggers that you can assign to any given layout. They'll run an event or a script on the load of a record, the commit of a record, the loading of a layout, entering a new mode, all sorts of different actions. Unlike their object based trigger counterparts, they're setup in the layout setup dialog. Also in layout mode, but if you select the pencil icon for example, you'll see that there is a tab here called Script Triggers. One of my favorite uses of layout based script triggers is in combination with a subsummary report like we have her in the invoice list layout. Because if you remember from our discussion in an earlier video on creating subsummary reports, A subsummary report is just going to look like a list unless you sort by the break field. So instead of having to remind my users to do that or have them be underwhelmed when they go to my report that's supposed to be grouping but just looks like a list. I like to add…
