Using object-based triggers

- [Instructor] The first set of triggers that we're going to take a look at are the object-based triggers. These are triggers that deal with layout objects, and most specifically layout objects that are fields. If you go into Layout Mode everything that you can select is considered a layout object. That could be buttons, fields, even tab panels, graphics, or shapes, or objects, or whatever it is. Although we've been looking at assigning a script to a button and then when the user interacts with that button or object it fires the script, there are some other more subtle options that involve objects. I personally like using object-based script triggers, because I don't even have to train the user to hit a button, I can just have things happen on screen without them even knowing it. This cuts down dramatically on errors and training. So all triggers will be added to your layouts or layout objects while you're in Layout Mode.
