- Hey there, I'm Robbie Carman. - And I'm Rich Harrington. - Welcome to another episode. Rich, this week we are here at the Mount Vernon Recreation Center in Alexandria, Virginia standing in front of an ice rink. We've just had a great session filming some awesome figure skaters doing things that my body only wish it could do. - [Rich] (laugs) - [Robbie] This week we're actually gonna talk about getting low-angle shots. I think the ice was a perfect place to demonstrate this because there's a lot of footwork going on, there's a lot of cool spinning. Low-angle shots have a place in a lot of productions. - [Rich] What I like about a low-angle shot is that it really give you a sense of the environment. It's possible to put the camera low to the ground, put a wider angle lens on it, and really get a feeling for the space, kind of an alternative to your traditional establishing shot, which is sort of eye-level and looking out.
