- For many projects, casting the right talent is arguably the most important pre-production step. A film that is cast well, will be far more realistic and authentic and reduce the burden on the director. Great actors can bring insight to a character, transcend a role that is written in the script, and truly elevate your production level. There are a few ways you can go about searching for talent. If you have the budget, money will be well-spent on hiring a casting director. Now, if you're working on a non-existent budget production, like ours, we'll have to do the job ourselves. One place you could start is by sending out an open casting call. There are many websites where you can post casting calls and you can pretty much guarantee you will get a lot of answers back.
