- Usually on set, the DP will run a line from the camera to a bigger monitor next to set, which displays a live feed of what the camera is capturing. Key personnel with gather around the monitor and watch the shot for any potential issues and alert the AD or director if they notice any problems. This area is called Video Village. This area gets kind of congested because everybody wants to watch the movie being filmed. But it's important to make enough room so the people that actually need to be there can see what's going on. It's important that the script supervisor is watching in Video Village. Our script supervisor, Amy Anser, with her seemingly bionic eyes caught all kinds of little issues and problems that no one else noticed. Video Village is the most important place to spot continuity issues as well. So it's no wonder that Amy was always found right there in front of it.
