Data wrangler

- The roll of the data wrangler is to essentially take video off of the media from the camera and safely save it to a computer. On productions with bigger budgets this job might be handled by a DIT or Data Imaging Technician. DITs can do initial color grades, calibrate on set monitors, render proxy files, or do any one of a number of things to catalog and prepare the footage for the edit. But in our case, we needed someone who was extremely responsible to offload the footage. Because I only own two media cards for my camera. Now, I should probably buy more, but they're like 1200 bucks a piece, so don't judge me. But that means that we had to keep going back and forth between those two cards. So we needed someone on set to back up the footage safely to the computer so we could erase the card and then use it again, knowing that our data was safe.
