- After you choose the locations for your projects, the next step is to think about how can you transform them to best fit your story. We love movies because they can transport us to an entirely new world. Whether the story is fictional or based on a real event, movies can take the viewer to any location or time period immaginable. Set design is what makes that possible. Treat the location as a character in your piece as the right location with the right props are extremely influential in establishing the mood. We found this great location for our project, but this is a normal house with a normal bedroom. We had to work very hard to transform this bedroom as a set. - Obviously that we've seen the location. We've chosen a location we can get a really good sense of what else we'll need, what kind of props we're going to need. We need to go find an old TV and we're going to need a bed.
