Directing emotional scenes
- Acting and directing are already tough jobs. But for emotionally charged scenes, both actors and directors need to step up their game in order to deliver a powerful and believable scene. We had a couple emotionally charged scenes, most notably the good-bye scene where Ta'ani leaves Korda'a in the wilderness. In the shooting version of the film, Ta'ani saw some villains in the distance that were searching for our heroes, and Ta'ani had to rush the good-bye so that she could distract those bad guys away from Korda'a. I think there are good moments in this scene, but I think we all could have done a little better. Later in this chapter when we look at directing child actors we'll talk about the eye-opening experience I had about Natty's performance here. So for now let's focus on Eva's performance.
