- By now, you may be so familiar with the prose for your business video, you're a little sick of it. Good. That means you're not dabbling. You're doing heavy lifting, and now that it's time to write dialog and action, you're more than ready. Throwing your words onto a screen any which way is not going to cut it. It's essential to format your script properly. Script formatting is the lingua franca of video makers. It literally puts everyone on the same page. Speeding up the pre-production, production, and post-production processes, and cutting the chance of miscommunication and mistakes. There are several acceptable ways to format your script. I'm going to start with the one you'll most likely use for your business video. It also happens to be the easiest, and it's the style I've used in our exercise files.
