Ensuring safety around fire

- Obviously before doing anything with fire or anything dangerous on set, you need to thoroughly test it and be very aware of ever potential injury so you can prevent it. We kept the fire and all fire materials away from cast and crew, away from food, and always had a full bucket of water in case something needs to be extinguished. I also bought a bunch of gloves so that the crew didn't get any fuel on their skin. Not only to prevent possible irritation, but also so that people didn't have anything flammable on them while they were working with fire. For our one shot with Andrew Trevaglini holding the torch, which might have been the most dangerous thing we did on the set, we shot in pretty tight so we could have people standing just out of frame next to him in case something caught on fire. We also made sure that the torch was a pretty long torch and that he never held it up high so that falling debris from the torch would fall on him or his clothing. And of course we made sure to…
