Fixing it in post

- During production when things aren't working correctly, directors will often tell the crew, "eh, we'll fix it in post." Meaning that they'll make the problem go away in post production. This phrase has been uttered so frequently and carelessly that it's kind of like a running joke now. It's a joke because not everything can be fixed in post, and also very few directors seem to understand what can and can't be fixed in post. In this series of training courses we're going to have two courses on visual effects as well as courses on editing, color correction, and sound. I hope that you'll watch those as it's a tremendous benefit to your storytelling skills to understand what's easy to fix well and what isn't. When things aren't easy to fix in post, they can be really time consuming and expensive to fix, and even then after all that time and money, it could still end up looking terrible.
