- You're ready to write your script so let's talk about tools and what formats you might want to use. One of the standard formats is the Hollywood Screenplay Format. There are several pieces of software out there that make this possible for you to use. Final Draft has been around for a long time and is available for both Mac and Windows. And now there's Final Draft Writer which puts these onto a mobile platform, whether it's for your iPad, your iPhone or an Android. There's also Movie Magic Screenwriter which has the advantage of being tied into Movie Magic Budgeting and Movie Magic Scheduler, which are all separate packages, but if you buy all of them and you're working on a really huge project, it's worth it because you obviously want to be sure that all of your scenes and characters tie into scene breakdowns, daily schedules, budgets, et cetera.
