How goal and style connect

- Your goal and your style are interconnected when you're talking about a nonfiction production. So, for example, you might use a lot of archival images, if you want to evoke nostalgia with your script. Or maybe you're going to script the show in a very cutty style because you want to create a lot of excitement, so you're going to build in a lot of scene changes and shot changes. Or maybe you're going to use animation to describe some complicated process or to quickly engage people with a topic that otherwise might not be that exciting. Perhaps you're going to script a re-enactment because it's going to be important for the audience members to kind of visualize themselves doing something. Or, maybe, it's an interview-driven production. And so now you have to make some stylistic choices in your script writing about how these interviews are going to be conducted.
