Involving decision makers

- One of my favorite parts of the process of script writing is figuring out how to involve decision makers in the most efficient, effective and creative way in the process. Because let's face it, we don't write in a vacuum, we don't get to do everything we want to do, and there's always going to be notes. So how do you build that into your writing process? Well, if you wrote a good script treatment and you had a good outline, and you created all those goals and outcomes that we talked about at the beginning, then you're probably going to have a pretty good place to start when you get into that conversation around script drafts. And the reason I say that is, a lot of times, people will start to make edits on the script and they kind of forget those bigger picture questions because they're just looking at the writing, and sometimes they're even looking at the writing, as if it's writing for print rather than video. And so it's your job to kind of bring them back out to the big picture…
