- So Rich, you mentioned that manual focusing can, ya know, kinda be difficult and challenging at times but there has to be techniques that one can use to make it easier, right? - Oh, absolutely, some of these are low tech and some of them are gonna be high tech so let's start out with one of the low tech options with are marks or focus points. You might've heard of somebody hitting their mark and what this really equates to is that the actors or the subjects might move to a position, the camera operator is gonna adjust and find focus on the camera or using something like a follow focus and actually put a mark so a mark on the ground equals a mark. And then they'll walk to the next mark. And they'll set focus again and during the shot they'll actually turn the follow focus wheel or the lens and hit it. And you might've also noticed, Rob, for example, that on a lot of manual focus lenses there's actually distances marked out and if you know those or you measure those, those are gonna…
