- So, at this point, most of the major decisions have been made. The guys are hard at work behind us making the set prepared for the shoot. So, now there are some technical details that we want to take care of. The first official act of the set, of the production really is for the first AD to guide a safety meeting, which actually may not be on the set itself, it may actually be off the set, to discuss any safety concerns that there might be. At this point, also, I might have conversations with the script supervisor or someone on my camera team about the numbering system that we'll use on the slate. Remember, the numbering system on the slate is not the shot listing number. Those, that's irrelevant. The number to be used on the slate will be determined by the script supervisor as the editor's representative on the set.
