Prioritize the day

- The first step in assembling the crew is to actually assemble the crew, to make sure that all personnel who are required for the day are actually on set and available. Then, the next concern is to make sure that all equipment that's required for the day is available. Now, there are separate lighting, grip, and camera trucks. The proximity of those trucks to the entrance of the stage will be something I'll want to confirm when we start the day. The order that I personally prefer is lighting truck, then grip truck, then camera truck. Now, my main reason for that preference is that the camera truck will basically be unloaded once at the beginning of the day and then reloaded at the end of the day. However, the lighting truck and the grip truck will be loaded off an on all day long. So, I want those as close as possible to the set. In starting the day, my biggest priority is to see to it that we have a scene, a completed scene as early in the day as possible. I want to make sure that…
