- Rich like most things in video production safety should be paramount at all times, and when you're putting the camera up high that becomes a little bit more of a concern for obvious reasons. Even as something as simple as this little monopod rig - Yeah - that I showed earlier where I put this up in the air. I'm gonna wanna make sure of a few safety things. First and foremost, yeah this plate, the camera, that's all secure I'm gonna give it a good wiggle before I put it up in the air, because much more likely to break from five, six, seven feet in the air than it is from two or three feet in the air. Next thing when it comes to using the handle system with something like this you want to be aware of your surroundings, right? So if I go up like this, am I going to, you know if the pole down here, am I going to smack somebody? - Yeah. - Am I gonna smack another camera rig? Things of that nature. - And monopods often have spikes on the ground, and since it's my camera you're waving over…
