- We live in the digital age, so we tend to think of digital media as disposable. Well, if you've spent a lot of creative effort and time creating a wonderful piece of work, not to mention the money you've spent on it, digital media at that point is anything but disposable. Now, a couple of things you should think about. Do we have enough on-set media that we never have to reuse media that we've previously shot in that day? A strong recommendation is that you transfer your media at the end of every day, but only at the end of your day. And make sure that you always make two copies and that those two copies are each stored in separate locations. Now, I say this because I know of situations in which either single copies were made or multiple copies were made and stored in a single location, and that media no longer existed after some mishap. That's the worst thing that could conceivably happen. So give that some thought and plan that out.
