- In a mixed lighting environment, it's possible to have different color temperatures and we measure this typically with degrees Kelvin. Now, if you're really good, you might spot this with your eye but it's not as accurate as actually using a precision device and that's what you have there. - I do but it's worth noting that your camera metering system does a little bit of this for you, right? One of the ways that it's able to do an auto-white balance or one of those presets is because it can read color temperature and stuff that's going on there to a certain degree. Now, what I have in my hand here is actually a spectrometer. This is not a colorimeter. This is going to use the true spectral wave lengths of incoming light. This particular one is made by UPRtek. U-P-R-T-E-K It's also I think distributed by iKan. - Yeah and this is actually useful because people will want to measure the quality of their lights or if there's a color cast.
