- Now Rich, when it comes to frame rates, there's some obvious standards. As I mentioned before, 24 frames per second is kind of the film standard that you see in a movie theater anywhere in the world. We have 25 frames per second that is popular in Europe and other PAL countries. We have 30 frames a second which is popular here in the United States. Now, one thing I should mention. The 24 and the 30 kind of get a little confusing because there are also fractional frame rates. - Oh yeah, I totally screwed this up very early in my career, I remember when I first started using After Effects, I was told to deliver everything at 30 frames a second. And I was a young kid, this was probably almost 20 years ago and I remember just typing 30 into the number. And then when we would go to import those graphics into the Avid, the timings would change a little bit or it might look a little jerky.
