Testing makeup on camera

- After while of doing the makeup and noticing that we'd lost some of that deathly pallor by adding some of the special effects makeup, I worried that it was looking too fresh and normal. Sometimes when you work on something for a while, it's kinda hard to see it objectively. So, I decided to test it on camera, to see what it looked like through the lens and with the approximate lighting setup we'd be using. It looked a lot better on camera than I thought it would. Just to be safe though, I offloaded that file from the test and did a quick color grade in Redcine-X and I liked it. When I was filming Heather doing the makeup I almost suggested to her to just wipe it clean and start over again, because I liked the original pale look so much better. But on camera, I really liked the pale, I thought it was great. And there was certainly enough for me there to isolate and adjust in post production. And the wounds weren't as gory through the lens as they looked in person. Although, in…
