Using ISO or gain

- One of the things that you can change on pretty much any camera is the ISO or the gain. And Rob, essentially this is just tweaking how the camera sensor performs. - [Rob] Yeah, it's the sensitivity of the actual image sensor itself. And the higher the value, the more sensitive the sensor is going to become, allowing you to effectively produce a brighter image. The downside of having a higher ISO, at least- - [Rich] It's not magic. - At least most of the time is that you're going to see increased noise in the actual image. And when a lot of people talk about low light performance and native ISO and all that kind of stuff, one of the determining factors of really good performing low light cameras is how clean the image is at higher ISOs. For example, Sony a7S and other cameras like that can produce relatively clean images at ISOs that just a couple years ago would have just seemed ridiculous to shoot anything at. - Well this is the R here, but it's the mark two.
