Using a script supervisor

- Let's talk a bit more about the position of script supervisor, and how to perform that role. Because script supervisor is kind of a mouthful, and because filmmakers love their jargon, script supervisor is almost always called scriptie on set. The script supervisor usually has several components: to make sure that the script is read accurately by the actors, hence the name script supervisor, to make sure the entire scene actually gets shot, and to document important things about each take. On smaller productions, script supervisors often take pictures of the set. Wardrobe, hair, everything, to make sure that there is a reference in case things need to be shot over several days, or after breaks, or maybe re-shot later. As mentioned, the world famous Amy Enser was our scriptie. Unfortunately, I don't have her notes to show you, because she insisted on taking them home after the production, and typing them up to remove some of the more adult language that she used in her notes.
