- Rob, I remember the first time I experienced log video. It was just confusing. It was turned on on-set, the director of photography told me, "I need to shoot it this way." And I'm like, you mean you need to shoot it so it looks ugly? I don't get it. And looking at the monitor it just was confusing. It took me a little while to get used to. It was when I started to wrap me head around that this was really a technique that required communication and collaboration between production and post. - [Rob] Totally. Many people have the same reaction that you did, but remember, log is a way of encoding the signal to get the most out of it later on in post.
