What should be in your toolkit?

- Now this is my favorite setup. This is my toolkit. My grip friends will be stoked. I get to show off my toolbox to you. On our set today, I've got a number of toolkits. These kits have traveled with me over the years and have evolved many times, keeping up with the needs of the set. Yours will look very different than mine. But let's take a look at mine and give you some inspiration so that you know what I wouldn't leave home without. Now, in product lighting, my toolkit begins to take on different shapes, literally. I start to think about the various kinds of reflectors that I need, large and small. Many times, in the background a shot will be largely out of focus, so a variety of tape or sprays will come in handy for masking out highlights or putting a strip of color where desired. Product shooting can be time consuming and in most cases you want to have your toolkit right within reach. It's essential. I don't want to have to run down the hall every time I need a pair of scissors…
