Why do we move the camera?

- Changing the audience's perspective is one of the most powerful aspects of the motion picture medium. So we're gonna spend some time talking about the movement of the camera. Movement is an essential element of filmmaking. So learning to move the camera effectively adds an important tool to your list of ways to tell the audience where you want their eyes to be, what's important right now, who's driving the scene, how important is a particular moment? Edison's first motion picture camera was called the kinetograph. The root of that name comes from the word kinetic. The dictionary definition of that word is relating to or resulting from motion.
