- On this shoot, I'm the cinematographer, but I'm also the operator, and Alex, who is our focus puller, is actually doing sort of triple duty, because he's our focus puller, our DIT and our loader. So, this is our camera cart, this is Alex's primary work station. We have camera reports, we have a slate ready to go and marked. We have lenses in a secure location. So, we have to set camera now for the camera move we're going to be doing with a dolly. Now for your shoot you might be doing this with a Steadicam or handheld. Hans is our dolly grip, and you have your script? - Got my script. - Always make sure that the dolly grip has a script, because that allows us to cue the dolly grip for specific points in the dialogue. The dolly grip is a specialist, and the dolly grip needs to understand not just the mechanics of the shot but also the real story reasons for the shot. So, we're going to bring in the dolly.
