The editing script
- Writing an editing script is one of the most important parts of the script writing process. And let's face it, it's the part where things evolve the most. Especially if you're working with interviews and real people on camera. So let's talk a little bit about what the process of writing an editing script really means. Well, you'll take that shooting script, you go into the studio, you start cutting things together, and sure enough you're going to find out that some of the pieces don't fit together. So this is where you get to play around, you decide do you need a little more narration to glue these things together, can you get away with no narration and just have the interviews tell the story? Maybe there's some key topic or point that some person in the interview just takes forever to say and you think, wow, I think I am going to have the narrator say that because they can say it in 10 seconds and we can move on to the important part of the story.
