- So lets go ahead and attach a filter here. - Yup. - One of the first things is if your lens has a hood, what do we gotta do? - Take it off. - Yeah, so just remove that carefully, set it to the side. You can still often put that back on. And then you're going to take the filter. - Now, let me say one thing about this, make sure that the thread of your filter and thread of the lens are actually the same number. Sometimes you can get what you think is a good fit and then you start screwing it on and then you just strip threads and it gets stuck, and bad things happen. - And speaking of getting stuck, make sure you haven't gotten any grain, debris, dust, sand, in that ring there. Check this here, you don't want anything small obstructing that so when you turn it, it locks. Now if you take that, you want to place that on the lens, make sure you get it well lined up, and gently turn it.
