- Hi everyone, it's Ashley Kennedy back with another installment of Video Post Tips Weekly: The Post-Production Tutorial Series from lynda.com. This week's topic is Think Sync! The Double-System Sound Workflow. Now, this Double-System Sound, or Sync Sound Workflow simply means that we're going to be merging video clips with their audio counterpart. So back in the days of shooting film, this was a necessity. You filmed the image on the camera and you recorded audio on a separate recorder. Then you would sync these together inside of the software, usually based on a common sync point that you could both see and hear. Even though most of us aren't shooting on film anymore, this is still a common workflow since a lot of cameras don't shoot high quality audio. So we're still needing to merge the video clips, which often contain low quality audio, with the high quality audio clips.
