- Hi everyone, it's Ashley Kennedy, back to bring you another installment of Video Post Tips Weekly. The post-production tutorial series on lynda.com. This week's topic is Mask Tracking Made Easy, Isolating Areas and Following Movement. Now masks are essentially just telling the software that you want to apply an effect like color correction in just one area of the frame, thereby masking the rest of the frame from the intended effect, and tracking a mask means that you are moving the mask across the image usually to match the movement of the subject in the frame. This sometimes happens automatically and sometimes manually, depending on the software and the tool. So we're going to take a look at how to do this inside of Premier Pro with the integrated mask tracking on its many effects, and we're also going to take a look at how to do this in Final Cut Pro X by keyframing the shape mask and finally we're going to do it inside of Avid Media Composer where we're going to learn how to…
