- Hi everyone, it's Ashley Kennedy, back with another installment of Video Post Tips Weekly, the Post-Production Tutorial Series from lynda.com. This week's topic is Using Blend Modes to Fix Blunders: Correcting Overexposed Footage. Now, some of the most common lighting problems in video are overexposed and underexposed footage. There are a number of ways to correct this issue, and the strategy that comes to mind immediately for most people is straight color correction, and often that's absolutely the way you should go. But sometimes, using the power of blend modes, either alone or in conjunction with color correction techniques, can really help you creatively isolate the problem. And in this movie, we'll primarily be taking a look at the "darken" blend mode group to isolate the appropriate values, and adding contrast and detail to our image.
