Create a side-head area - FrameMaker Tutorial
From the course: FrameMaker 2017 Essential Training
Create a side-head area
- [Instructor] One nice feature of FrameMaker when creating text documents like we're doing is the ability to reserve space on your page for something called a side head. Side heads allow you to push your body text to the left or the right reserving space on the page for things like titles or headlines, sub-titles, et cetera. In this movie, we're going to use our catalog 2017 file we've been working with to create a side head area down the left hand side of our page where we might want to put titles, for example. Next, to add the side head area, we'll go up to the Format menu, and from here go down to Page Layout. Now from the pop-up menu, select right at the top, Column Layout. Notice Column Layout allows us to adjust the number of columns, which we're not going to do. We're going to keep it at one big column but we are going to create some room for side heads. Notice the check box up here at the top. Clicking this check box allows us to adjust the width and the gap and the location…
