Begin sketching thumbnails

- [Instructor] Let me show you a few examples. I've provided a sketch as a template. If you want a head start, you're welcome to use it. Let's make a bunch of different ideas. I'm going to choose a messy brush from the Pixel category, like the Conte Crayon. You can find it under the Dry Media section. You can also hit this little star if you want to add it to your favorites. Using a messy brush helps me stay loose because a thumbnail is meant to be very quick and a small sketch, just like this. My anatomy isn't very good and it's super messy, but that's okay. The point is to focus on simple shapes of the character and values like black and white. By creating thumbnails you can try a lot of different combinations quickly and choose from many different options. By looking at your thumbnails together, thinking about your mind map and your reference, you can make a choice based on which design fits the world best.
