Set up your Adobe Fresco project

- [Instructor] Let's open up Adobe Fresco. You have to be logged in to your Adobe account to start using an Adobe ID. It's usually your email address. The cool thing about an Adobe ID is that you can get access to all your content across different apps even mobile and desktop. If you don't have an Adobe ID, you can make one right now. It's free to use an Adobe ID even if you don't subscribe to any plans, just like Adobe Fresco. Once you're logged in you'll see the home screen. If you already had an Adobe ID, documents you've already created in Photoshop will start to appear as they're downloaded from the cloud. To get started, we want to make a new canvas to begin the mind map of our world. Click on Custom size, and let's make a canvas of 2500 by 1600. I'm choosing these dimensions because it's medium sized, it's a nice landscape, but it's not too big to slow down older iPads if you're working on something that's a little bit older. In Adobe Fresco, your creation and drawing tools are on the left-hand side, including three different types of brushes, Pixel, Live and Vector brushes. The Move tool, and then also Selections, and Colors. Your document and layer tools are over here on the right. Including where you name a document, resize it, rotation, and your general app settings. And your layer stack is here on the far right. And you've got layer properties at the top, including blending modes and opacity of the layer. And then advanced layer actions like masking, deleting, and duplicating layers here. You can also make new layers, and you can hide them. This little circle is called the Touch Modifier. You can think of it like a Shift key on a desktop computer. It's contextual, and it'll change functions based on the tool that you have selected. Hopefully you feel more orientated after watching this setup video. Next we'll get into using the tools now that you know where they are.
