3D pocket roughing
- [Instructor] We're now ready to create our first operation on the end plate. As I mentioned in previous videos, when deciding which operation to begin with, I generally start from the inside of the part and work out. So in this case we have two different options. We can either begin with a 3D engraving or we can start with a pocket. I'm going to go ahead and start with a 3D engraving because it takes a little more work and has a little more detail, so. To do this we're going to go to the 3D dropdown. And select Pocket Clearing. Now you'll notice we get the same dialog box as we did before with the same tabs, we're going to work through. And the very first thing we're going to do, is we're going to change the tool. I still see we're using the quarter inch in mill. And we could continue with that if we wanted to do multiple strategies. But because this is a smaller pocket, I'm going to go ahead and reduce the size of…
