Assigning materials to the model

- [Instructor] When modeling in Fusion 360, it's a best practice to create your model in the material that you think you'll be fabricating it from. However, in the simulation workspace, you have a tremendous opportunity to explore different types of material for your component. To do this is very simple. The tools just to the right of simplify are for managing materials. We'll select study materials, and it will show us the category and the material applied to the component. Presently, the study material is the same as the model, so steel. It will also list how the safety factor is to be calculated by yield strength or ultimate tensile strength. We'll leave it at yield strength, and let's take a look at other materials that are available. In the lower left corner, right now we're showing that we're going to be selecting from all available libraries. However, Fusion 360 comes with three different libraries by default.…
