CNC topographic site models

- [Olivia] If you work in a design field like architecture or construction, you've probably come across a beautiful site model of your project. There are many ways to build these show stopping scale models and I'm here to show you how. Hi, my name's Olivia Morgan and I'm a professional model builder and owner of Model Space LLC. I want to teach you the process we use in our own shop to create large and small scale site models using Fusion 360's CNC milling capabilities. The efficient CNC process I developed to create site models renders the best finished quality on a tight deadline and budget. In this LinkedIn learning course, we'll cover in depth CNC milling concepts as they apply to model building. We'll also discuss the pros and cons of this tool to determine the best fabrication method for your own model building project. After going through the foundational CNC concepts, we'll design both a smooth and stepped scale topography site model with a digital model of your site. We'll finally move into the manufacturing workspace to create our milling paths to produce our scale model. All throughout this process, we'll discuss the many implications of our design choices in Fusion 360 and how they affect our fabrication process in the real world. CNC milling is the best way to produce your site model, so stick around and find out how.
