Creating closed pockets

- [Instructor] Now that we've finished the 3D engraving we can move on to clearing out these pockets. And we can do that with the pocket command. Under the 2D menu you can select 2D pocket. And we need to start again double checking all of our tabs in our setup. And the first thing I want to do is switch back from the 1/8 inch ball end mill to the 1/8 inch flat end mill. Actually, no we'll use the 1/4 inch end mill for this one. So we'll go ahead and select that and select OK. You can see the tool updated. We'll switch over to the geometry tab and now we need to select the bottom of the pockets we want to cut, so we can rotate into a position where we can see them. And we want to select these bottom edges. And you'll notice that the arrow is pointing inward, making sure that we're going to cut inside this pocket. And those look good.
