Creating interface geometry

- [Instructor] Model Geometry will still be needed for the generative design process. But rather than modeling the entire component, or are series of components, you'll model only the critical interfaces with other components that are already in the assembly. These interfaces could be used for fastening or support, but ultimately they'll be needed to help the generative design process understand how what its creating will be connected to the rest of the design. For this design, we need to tell the generative design process how we will connect the new model to this plate and to the clevis rod end. We'll begin by creating a new component called Preserve. (keys tapping) The reason I'm giving it this name is these new bodies that we'll be creating will be selected as geometry to preserve in the design process. (mouse clicking) Using the cylinder primitive, (mouse clicking) I'll select the top face of the plate and center a boss on the plate that's one-inch diameter and .5 inches high…
